Village Student Ministries

Greetings,

In 1 John 2:12-14 John makes reference to the type of people he is writing to by referring to them as children, fathers and young men. Each is referred to in a different light due to their level of spiritual growth. Right now we are 3 years young as a ministry, which would label us as a toddler. Toddlers are just learning how to speak in sentences, dress themselves and develop a sense for creativity. They also have the ability to start climbing and can associate their likes and dislikes. In year 3 of ministry we are developing our identity and continuing to lay the foundations of our students ministry. Each year we are faced with decisions that will better enhance our growth and lead us towards our foundational growth. 2012 is no different. To establish a solid ministry we have to have a focus and our focus is to "Love God and Love others" and everything we do should and will reflect that goal. God calls us to be a light in a dark world, so a light we shall and always will be. This is why it is important that we not only charge our light, but we point it in the direction where it will reflect the best. With that in mind I want to lay out for you the groundwork of our student ministry, so you can clearly see where our light is going to shine. My hope is you will join us as we share the light of Christ in our community.

Our Youth Ministry is provided in three formats to match students' ages:
Segway (5th-6th grade) Shaken (7th-8th) Surge (9th-12th)

2012 Summer Camp: GETAWAY 2012 - Coming this June!

From June 10-14, our students grades 7th-12th will be leaving Blythewood for a summer Getaway like they've never experienced before. Details will be out soon. Registration is open now:

Super Early Bird until Feb 26: $200
Early Bird until April 8: $260
After April 8: $285
Final Payment deadline is May 27.
(A $75 deposit is due at registration. Camp must be paid in full by SUnday, May 27, 2012. Deposits are non-refundable and full amount is non-refundable after May 27. There will be a mandatory/camper meeting on Sunday May 27 at VillageChurch from 4-5p.m. All contracts, rules and camp details will be distributed at this meeting. The Three S's of ViStudent Ministries:

5th and 6th Grade

Our vision is to prepare 5th and 6th graders to transition to the middle and high school years by giving them the tools needed to faithfully follow and serve Christ. We do this through weekly Bible studies at the VC House where we study how to follow and grow in Christ's love.

7th and 8th Grade Middle School Ministry

***Starts Wednesday, January 25th!!!
Shaken is a time where students can be themselves and corporately worship God, as they are equipped with the necessary tools to share the good news of Jesus Christ in their community. Our hope is students will bring their friends and use this time as an outreach and means of spiritual growth in their own lives. This growth process will take place through relevant teaching, dynamic worship and outrageous games.

The bigger we are, the smaller we become and it is our belief that the church explodes through small groups. C-teams are student small groups that take place during the week at VillageChurch. Our hope is that students will come together and earnestly seek God as they study the bible, cry out to God in prayer and enjoy the freedom and fun of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. We hope your C-team becomes your family and you follow Acts 2:42-47 as your guide.
