Service Opportunities

Setup/Teardown Team:

This team prepares the school to be a place of worship each week!  They are responsible for setting up the chairs, stage, tables, children’s areas, and even vacuuming on occasion.  Their

goal is to create an environment that is comfortable and conducive to worship.

  • Time commitments- This team meets @ 8:15 a.m. to unload the trailer.  It usually takes 35-40 minutes to set up and 20 minutes after the service is over to teardown.

Greeter Team:

If you’ve never met a stranger, this team is for you!  Greeters must be energetic, talkative and friendly.  The greeting team actively demonstrates God’s love with every smile and hello they give on Sunday mornings.

  • Time commitments- Greeters meet @ 8:45 and 10:15 a.m   To ensure as many people as possible are welcomed, the greeters continue to greet until 11:00 a.m.

Hospitality Team:

Those helping at the Hospitality table have a dual role.  This team personality is outgoing and service-minded.  One minute they’re serving behind the scenes cleaning up spills and the next they’re mingling with guests.  The Hospitality Team offers our morning guests donuts, coffee and water with a smile!

  • Leader- Peggy Hood
  • Time commitments- Need to arrive by 8:45 and 10:30 a.m.  This allows for setup before the service and mingling with the guests as they arrive.

Usher Team:

The Usher Team exists to make sure that everyone present experiences a distraction-free service.  The ushers guide people to the nearest available seat in a quick and orderly fashion.  It is their goal to express the love of Christ though a willingness to help our guests find the perfect seat.

  • Leader- Dan Reidl
  • Time Commitments- Need to arrive by 8:30 and 10:15.  Due to the fact that people continue to come in until the end of the music, each group of ushers is finished when the sermon begins.

Media Setup/Teardown Team:

Every week the service is enhanced by a wonderful group of guys who run the media.  The Media Team is responsible for setting up and tearing down all equipment needed to make it happen.

  • Leader- Troy Carpenter
  • Time Commitments- Setup takes place on Sunday mornings @ 8:15 a.m.  This gives us time to go through sound checks and have everything in place without being in a rush

Sunday Prayer Team:

Each week at VillageChurch, a couple of hundred people hear the message of Jesus Christ.  We realize that bathing VillageChurch in prayer each Sunday is one of the most important things we do as a church.  Before the service, a team of volunteers prays over every aspect of the service and we have been greatly blessed because of their prayers.

  • Leader- Peggy Hood
  • Time commitments- The Prayer Team gathers for prayer at 10:15 a.m. and prays until 10:30 for God’s blessings.

Office Team:

Each week, the staff of VillageChurch oversees the coordination of ministry and events at VillageChurch.  Because of the growth we’re experiencing, there continue to be tasks that could use a few extra hands.  If you would rather volunteer your time during a weekday and enjoy some administrative tasks, this may be the ministry for you!

  • Leader- Erik Estep
  • Time commitments- One to three hours a week depending upon your schedule.  Tasks generally include correspondence, folding bulletins, making copies and answering the phone.
